Review
The tracklist starts with brisk momentum, tumbling out of the brief prologue into "Ashes" with tight double-kick percussion and synchronized keyboard-guitar sprints. Early pieces keep their footing within standard song lengths, alternating between dense, drop-tuned riffing and Fredrik Klemp’s clean refrains before "Broken" suddenly clears the floor, stripping the arrangement down to electronic pulses and muted, reverbed atmosphere.
That midpoint hush pivots the second half into a far weightier, longform stride. "Casting Stone" unleashes nine minutes of polyrhythmic churn and synth-heavy interplay, inaugurating a demanding sequence where three of the remaining pieces push beyond the seven-minute boundary. Diego Tejeida’s electronic soundscapes and Eric Gillette’s articulate guitar leads weave through the winding midsection of "Parting the Waves Inside," while the quiet breather "Night of Veils" provides brief shelter before the ten-minute closer "As Long As We Last" takes its time, layering buoyant vocal harmonies across a patient, atmospheric crescendo.
